St George's Bell Ringers

The Bells

St Georges first peal was cast in 1853 by Mears and Stainbank of London. The churches current bells were cast in 1920 by Taylors and Loughborough.

Andrew MaysTower Captain

Andrew learnt to ring at St Marks Bredbury and has been ringing for over 34 years. During those 34 years he has rung at many cathedrals and churches across England, Wales and the Isle of Man and was tower captain of St Marks for 12 years. Andrew has also been a member of the Chester Diocesan Guild of Church Bell ringers for 32 years and in 2000 joined the Lancashire Association of change ringers.

Bell ringing is open to all ages, and is a great way of meeting new people and socialising.

Times

Practice night - Monday 7.30pm – 9.00pm (with light refreshments afterwards)

Ringing – Sunday 10.15am – 10.45am. Evening by arrangement for 6.00pm service.
